For this Wednesday..

Hi everyone!

If you went to State Visual Presentation Day this past Saturday, Miss LaPointe would like you to bring your ribbons and/or rosettes into club this Wednesday to show the rest of the club! Congratulations to all who participated! You are setting a great example for our club and for other clubs as well, and you should all be very proud of yourselves! Remember that Wednesday is Talk Night and it is very important that you attend! Thank you!

Upcoming dates:

• Spring Leadership Retreat
  • April 21st & 22nd – too late to sign up, but remember that it is on these dates if you are signed up!
• Muddy Paws 4-H Dog Show
  • Sunday, April 24th – entries due April 17th to Jen Cash
• Dog Camp at Camp Farley
  • May 20th – 22nd, forms should be up on the Massachusetts 4-H website by this Monday
• Thunder Hill Canine Encounters 4-H Spring Fling Dog Show
  • Thursday, May 26th – entries at 5pm, Norfolk Aggie
• Cave Canem 4-H Dog Show
  • Sunday, June 5th – all hands on deck! We will speak more on this as it approaches. As of right now, the forms have been sent out and must be mailed to KAYLEE by May 15th!

Attendance

• Attendance to 75% of meetings is mandatory. If you know that you will not be attending club, please call Miss LaPointe- not a volunteer or another member.
• Please respect Miss LaPointe and her rules while we are at club. This means no phones, laptops, or “boxes,” please.

Room Visits

• This is our rent to Wingate and the patients appreciate it very much! Please do not miss your room visits, and if you cannot make your scheduled time, let a substitute know ahead of time so that they may get them done.

I will bring hard copies of show forms on talk night. If you have any questions about dates, our show, or anything else, please feel free to contact me! Thanks guys!

Christmas party tomorrow!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to remind you that tomorrow night is the Christmas party! Please remember to bring a costume for your dog, a grab gift (one for each dog you have, if you have another dog at home, bring two.. Etc..), and a nut free finger food! Thanks! See you tomorrow!

First Meeting!

Hello All,

Miss LaPointe would like to start club meetings this week on Sept. 2.  It will be a talk night and there will be elections for officer positions.  New 4-Her’s have been told they may come the following week and bring their dogs.

Remember to keep the date open for Standish Humane Society and our club demonstration on September 20th!  If you need community service hours for school, here is a great opportunity!

Also, My new school schedule at Bridgewater State this semester will not allow me to make meetings on Wednesdays, but I will still see Miss LaPointe almost everyday. I am going to be around via email and text  if you need clarification on anything or have questions. I am hoping that my schedule for the Spring semester is kinder to me and 4-H.

Meet the Breeds & Save the Date!!

Hi everyone, this is just a reminder that Meet the Breeds at the Marshfield Fair is tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM. If you are participating in the Dog Achievement Show at noon (you would have had to sign up when entries were due) please plan to stay afterwards and talk about your dog’s breed and personality to the public. If you are not showing tomorrow, please still plan to attend this program (arrive around 1:30) with your dog. If you have any questions I will be at the fair all day tomorrow to help and show so please feel free to come early and figure out what we are doing.

As for Doggie Paw-looza this year, the date is September 20th from 11 AM until 2 PM. If you are not familiar with this program, it is the fundraiser for Standish Humane Society held annually at Wompatuck State Park in Hingham. Every year, we have attended and done obedience and showmanship demos for the public as well as had a small recruitment booth. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask me at the fair, but we will go over it in more detail at the start of the new 4-H year.

BIG E FORMS ARE DUE!

Hi everyone this is just a reminder that the Big E forms are to be postmarked by the 15th of August so if you are of age (13+) and are planning on attending, please send those this week. I believe they can be found on the Big E website and they were also emailed to everyone in the spring. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me! Thank you!

Marshfield Fair entries due by JULY 10TH

Along with your Barnstable entries, you should also send in your Marshfield fair entries because those are due soon as well. Even though the shows aren’t until late August, the entries are due early this year (July 10th). All of the forms can be found on the Marshfield Fair website under the “4-H and animals” section on the exhibitor handbook drop down menu. If you need help finding anything or filling out the forms, as Marshfield entries are a little more complex than the rest, please feel free to contact me or any other veteran Marshfield fairgoer for help. Hope you are all having a great summer and I hope to see you all at the shows 🙂

Entry for the Barnstable County Fair Dog Show

Hello Everyone! Just a reminder that the entry form for the Barnstable County Fair dog show is due on July 6th! The show is on Sunday, July 26 Here is the link to the fair book and the entry is on page 19. If transportation is an issue, please reach out to me or Miss LaPointe. I know that arrangements can be made!
